Gennaro Selvaggi, MD, PhD

Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon

Dr. Gennaro Selvaggi is a Board-Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon.

He graduated as Medical Doctor, Cum Laude, in 1998 and he qualified as Plastic Surgeon, Cum Laude, at the Catholic University in Rome, Italy.

As winner of several international prizes, Dr. Selvaggi completed Aesthetic / Reconstructive Fellowships in London (2004), Dallas (2004), and in Gothenburg (2007).

Dr. Selvaggi also obtained a PhD in Gender Reassignment Surgery at the University of Ghent, Belgium (2010).

Currently, Dr. Selvaggi is Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden; and He is co-operating with the Gender Unit of Charing Cross Hospital, Imperial College NHS Trust, London, UK.

While his major field of research is Gender Reassignment Surgery, He is also writing peer-reviewed articles in both Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery for different scientific journals.

Finally, Dr. Selvaggi is a UK Certified Expert Witness in the field of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.

With more than 2500 cosmetic procedures performed in the past 8 years of practice as plastic surgeon, he can offer a wide range of different surgeries, including procedures such as breast surgery, vaginal tightening, and facial feminizing surgery (see "procedures" in the link above). He is also keen in learning new techniques from his experiences abroad, implementing the surgical techniques existing, and taking challenging cases.

Dr. Selvaggi consults, and performs cosmetic surgery and non-surgical fillers, from different hospitals in Sweden and UK.
